On the evening of Feb.4th as members were preparing for the blizzard the Rescue Engine and Ambulance were dispatched for a vehicle accident with one reported unconscious in the area of Yellow Springs Pike and Rocky Springs Road. Units arrived to find one vehicle in the roadway with significant damage and one patient lying over the passenger seat unconscious and trapped. The Lieutenant on the Rescue Engine established the Yellow Springs Command and requested Aviation. Engine 12 was added to the call for the landing zone. The crew worked rapidly as the patient's condition worsened. The extrication was complete in about 10 to 15 minutes and the patient was moved to the ambulance. Before Transported by Trooper 3 the patient began to regain consciousness. Excellent job to all.
