Right around 1630hrs box alarm 1-5 was struck for smoke in the apartment at 1302 East Baker Place. First arriving Brush 15 found a 4 story apartment building with nothing showing from side A. The command was established and engine 12 and Tower 1 arrived to investigate. The engine crew pulled the 300' 1-3/4" apartment line. Crews advanced to the 3rd floor where they entered apartment 31 to find a working kitchen fire with sprinkler activation. The safety taskforce was requested. The fire was knocked down in just under 5 minutes and crews started checking for extension and ventilating the building. The primary and secondary searches found nothing and all occupants were accounted for. Command held the first alarm and returned to safety taskforce after the fire was confirmed out. Crews operated for a while longer cleaning up and assisting the Fire Marshall's. The command was terminated and all units returned to service a short while later after the scene was turned over to the State FM's. Good job to all crews working safely in the snow conditions!
