It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member John “Jack” Fleischman on September 20th, 2026

Jack joined the Independent Hose Company in 1945 holding many positions including Fire Chief and President. He stepped away from the Fire Department to serve his Country and served in the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart for his Service.

Jack was also the President of the Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association from 1990 - 1991.

Funeral arrangements will be announced when they are available. Please keep Jack's Family and the Members of the IHC in your thoughts and prayers.
